Thanks for the tip, will try it with the next handset I test. Should you really have to browse with JavaScript turned off though? If it has the functionality then shouldn't the device have the horsepower to be able to handle it? I'd expect a modern smartphone to be able to manage enough JavaScript to handle loading a couple of blogs, it's not like the pages I chose were particularly complex, just long pages with lots of content.

You may get different results if you disable java script from page settings, I know I did when comparing the browser on my E7 with the video on the same sites in time with your video !

Hi Tom, thanks for your comment.

I believe I was using up to date software as provided by the guys at Nokia WOM (Nokia Connects) who I borrowed the N8 from to test drive it.

I didn't try third party browsers on either of the devices as I thought the fairest test would be to use the native browsers as some 3rd party browsers use server side compression methods to speed browsing up a bit.

Hey Jon, interesting post, so a couple of questions: What software are you using? Anna or an earlier version? (Anna improved the browser a lot). Also, have you tried Opera at all? Many "power users" use that instead of the native browser,
